Our Structure

Understand Our Task Forces

DFC introduced eight dedicated perineal teams solely focused on specific issues plaguing our society called Task Forces.

Each Task Force was formed by a dedicated group of individuals who wanted to work on solving social and health problems in an area they were passionate about by organizing online or offline activities to address the issue of concern . Most of our online work was achieved through our different Task Forces which you can read about below.

DFC is in the process of turning these online Task Forces into offline bodies which can bring the same level of focused enthusiasm to an offline setting in the post-pandemic world.

The Mental Health Task Force

We have organised a series of webinars on coping with stress, anxiety, and dealing with uncertainty during the pandemic over closed group sessions online (Zoho Showtime Viewer) where one can post queries anonymously. DFC had a stall in the Mental Health Santhe 2.0 in Bangalore, organized by NIMHANS in 2024 with the help of Bangalore-based psychologist Sneha Bothra. The Mental Health Task Force also continues to host online seminars and workshops to promote good mental health practices.

The Academic and Education Task Force

Besides hosting regular masterclasses, the AETF organized our first ever nationwide online medical quiz – ‘Social Quiztancing’ spanning over two days engaging hundreds from around the country. We regularly post infographics related to health and medical education on our social media platforms. We also cover important issues related to medical education, such as updates from the National Medical Commission related to medical examinations and medical students of our country, along with graver issues such as violence against doctors, doctor protests, etc.

The Public Health Task Force

The PHTF  has been regularly raising awareness about different diseases and public health issues in the country. We raised 50,000 INR which went into the relief of the victims of the Amphan Cyclone in the Sunderbans. We host dedicated health camps focusing on specific, common public health issues such as dengue.

The Animal Welfare Task Force

We continued with ‘feed the stray challenge’ during COVID with special attention to pet care during the pandemic.

The LGBTQ+ Task Force

The LGBTQ+TF  spreads education about the LGBTQ community and worked on a Queer support group during the pandemic. We also explored Queer Mythology and focused on breaking stigmas related to it.

The Women’s Health Task Force

We started an internal support group for PCOS. We have also been regularly raising awareness regarding breast and ovarian cancer, menstrual hygiene and safe practices, and regularly host health camps with special emphasis on menstrual hygiene.

The Sexual and Reproductive Health Task Force

The SRHTF  broke barriers with our  first ever online entertainment gameshow – ‘Taboozled’ which challenged the stigmas associated with sexual and reproductive health in our country. We also explored child sexual abuse, a topic heavily undermined in our society, and host health camps dedicated to safe sexual practices.

The Disability Task Force

The DTF used to run an online sign-language coaching programme on our social media handles during the pandemic. When the  government proposed an amendment mellowing down punishments for those insulting or harassing disabled  people, within 24 hours, the DTF of Doctors For A Cause used its community to send a petition to the ministry, opposing the amendment. Due to collective efforts around the nation, the amendment was finally withdrawn.
